Joy Fan completed undergraduate training at MIT, where she studied Biological Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. She is now pursuing a PhD in the Biomedical Engineering department at Columbia University, and is excited about working at the intersection of computer science, engineering, and experimental biology. As part of the Azizi lab, she is interested in developing novel machine learning methods to study the tumor microenvironment, using a single-cell genomics approach.
