Alessandro A. Grande is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics under Drs. Sohrab Shah and David Blei. Alessandro is interested in statistical machine learning for large-scale data. His interests include variational inference, stochastic optimization, and empirical Bayes methods. Currently, Alessandro is working on inferring the determinants of chemoresistance from single-cell multiomic data.
He attained his bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, and Insurance from Sapienza Universitá di Roma. Following that, he pursued a Master of Science in Mathematical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino and a Master of Arts in Statistics and Applied Mathematics at Collegio Carlo Alberto. He then completed his PhD in Statistics at Columbia University.
