IICD SRP Emerging Scholars Award

To support continued research engagement for former SRP interns, we are offering funding to labs that wish to extend the interns’ work beyond the formal program period. This SRP Emerging Scholars Award provides stipend support to facilitate ongoing mentorship and valuable research experience for students. A total of three awards will be provided each year, with a limit of one award per lab.

  • Funding Type: Stipend support for former SRP interns.
  • Duration: Funding is available for one semester, either during the academic year or the summer immediately following the SRP program in which the intern participated.

 

- A one-page statement from the mentor that includes:

  • A brief research description of the intern’s ongoing or planned project.
  • An explanation of how continued research experience will contribute to the intern’s academic or career trajectory.

- Application deadline: July 30, 2026

  • Hourly rate: $25 per hour.
  • Maximum of 10 hours per week.
  • Funding is limited to a maximum of 4 months.
  • The intern will be onboarded as a non-student casual.
