From Theory to Practice: IICD Workshop Series offers Columbia graduate students and postdoctoral scholars the opportunity to build research skills in a focused, hands-on setting. Each 3–4 hour in-person workshop covers a different topic and is led by IICD faculty, research scientists, or postdoctoral instructors. Limited to 15 participants, these interactive sessions combine concise lectures with practical exercises so participants can apply concepts immediately using current tools and methods.

The Institute offers a five day, in person intensive workshop for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows centered on a focused theme that may vary from year to year. The workshop provides participants with advanced training, hands on experience, and opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange in emerging areas of research.

A one day virtual bootcamp is typically held prior to the workshop to review key prerequisites and ensure participants are well prepared for the in person sessions.
