Aidan Daly is currently a Senior Computational Scientist in both the Vickovic Lab and the Center for Genomics of Neurodegenerative Disease at the New York Genome Center. Dr. Daly received his DPhil in Computer Science from Oxford University as a member of Prof. David Gavaghan's Computational Biology group. Following his graduate work, he joined the Flatiron Institute's Center for Computational Biology as a Flatiron Research Fellow focusing on the analysis of spatial transcriptomics (ST) data. Dr. Daly has continued this focus into his current position, developing statistical models to identify disease-driven changes in spatial gene expression at population scale, as well as machine learning models to derive the latent state of tissue from multiple parallel modalities. Dr. Daly has specific expertise in the use of Bayesian modeling, computer vision, and graph learning to extract mechanistic insights from biopsy and postmortem tissue.
