Emilie earned her PhD in Data Science and AI from the Technical University of Denmark, where her research focused on archetypal analysis, representation learning and interpretable modelling. She also holds a master’s degree in Mathematical Modelling and Computing and a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Biology and Disease Modelling.
Under the mentorship of IICD member Dr. Bianca Dumitrascu, her current research combines machine learning, Bayesian statistics and uncertainty quantification to develop interpretable models of complex biological systems.
