The Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics will continue its seminar series on the topic of mathematical sciences underpinning cancer research. The monthly seminars take place on the second Wednesday of the month, 2:00-3:00 PM EST. The presentations are open to the Columbia community (in person and online) and to researchers outside Columbia (via Zoom).

Bio: Dr. Máire Ní Leathlobhair is an assistant professor in Biological Data Analysis at Trinity College Dublin. Previously she was a post-doctoral researcher at Trinity College at the University of Oxford in the Cancer Genomics group led by Dr David Wedge at the Oxford Big Data Institute. She obtained her PhD degree in 2018 under the supervision of Elizabeth Murchison at the Cambridge University. During her PhD she focused on understanding the origin and evolution of transmissible cancer. Currently, her main research interests lie in investigating the development of rare cancers.
