February 19, 2024

Ignacio Vazquez-Garcia, a Research Associate in Computational Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics (co-mentored by Sohrab Shah and Simon Tavaré), has been chosen for the prestigious AACR NextGen Stars Program. This accolade recognizes his pioneering research on cellular dynamics in cancer. His work has helped identify the role of genomic instability in cancer evolution and its impact on the tumor microenvironment. The NextGen Stars program provides an exciting opportunity to increase the visibility of early-career scientists at the AACR Annual Meeting and to support their professional development and advancement.

At the upcoming AACR Annual Meeting 2024 in San Diego, Ignacio will present his work on genomic instability in ovarian cancer during the session AT04 - Mutational Processes in Cancer: From Replication Stress to Complex Genomic Rearrangements on Tuesday, April 9.
