Stephanie Velasquez, MPA

Stephanie Velasquez is the Executive Director of Business Administration and Strategic Initiatives at the Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics (IICD). With more than 15 years of experience in academic and research administration, she provides strategic, financial, and operational leadership that advances the Institute’s mission and long-term goals. Working closely with the Director, she oversees institutional planning, fiscal strategy, and cross-functional operations that support research growth, education, and organizational excellence.

Before joining Columbia University, Stephanie led administrative and financial operations at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she supported large-scale research programs and organizational development efforts. A first-generation college graduate, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of New Haven, where she graduated summa cum laude.
