Nicolas Beltran-Velez is a PhD student in the Computer Science Department, advised by David Blei and collaborating with the Azizi Lab. Nicolas primarily works on developing algorithms for probabilistic machine learning using foundation models. His current research focuses on scientific discovery with foundation models and interpretability techniques using mechanistic circuits. He attained his bachelor's degree in Mathematical Statistics and Computer Science and his Master of Science degree in Computer Science, all from Columbia University.
