Aaron Zweig Awarded Damon Runyon Quantitative Biology Fellowship

June 05, 2025

Aaron Zweig, a postdoctoral researcher at IICD, has been awarded the prestigious Damon Runyon Quantitative Biology Fellowship—one of only five awarded nationwide.
The fellowship supports early-career computational scientists who are deeply embedded in biology labs, enabling them to apply innovative quantitative tools to critical biological questions in cancer.

Zweig’s research bridges dynamical systems theory and geometric deep learning to understand how gene regulation changes over time and space. Using large-scale CRISPR perturbation data, he models the evolution of RNA expression in individual cells and diseased tissues. His goal is to infer gene regulatory networks that incorporate biological priors and inform the development of gene-targeted cancer therapies.
