IICD core faculty member Bianca Dumitrascu, Assistant Professor of Statistics and Herbert and Florence Irving Assistant Professor of Cancer Data Research, has been awarded a 2025 seed grant through Columbia’s Research Initiatives in Science & Engineering (RISE) competition. This competitive program supports high-risk, high-reward interdisciplinary projects with the potential to significantly impact the research landscape at Columbia.
Dumitrascu’s proposal was recognized for its innovation, ambition, and collaborative potential, earning her $120,000 in funding for one year. The award underscores her ongoing commitment to advancing cancer data research and fortifying Columbia’s interdisciplinary research community.
