Mapping Multimodal Phenotypes to Perturbations in Cells and Tissue with CRISPRmap

The Gaublomme lab developed a new optical pooled screening approach called CRISPRmap, which opens new lines of inquiry in gene function. The possibility of perturbing genes and reading out the resulting phenotypes in a spatially resolved manner in tissues enables researchers to map not only cell intrinsic but also cell-extrinsic effects, which are inaccessible to in-vitro studies. The findings were recently shared in Nature Biotechnology.
