Neeharika Kothapalli Awarded NIH F30 Fellowship

June 18, 2026

Congratulations to Neeharika Kothapalli, a MD-PhD student co-mentored by Drs. Elham Azizi and Benjamin Izar, who has been awarded an F30 Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for her project, “Dissecting Mechanisms of Molecular Convergence and Variable Expressivity in Inborn Errors of Immunity.”

Inborn errors of immunity are a diverse group of inherited disorders that disrupt immune function and can cause recurrent infections, inflammation, allergy, autoimmunity, or cancer. This project uses cell-engineering and computational approaches to identify common therapeutic targets across the group of disorders, and uncover genetic modifiers that explain variable disease severity and improve prognostication.

The NIH F30 fellowship supports dual-degree physician-scientist trainees pursuing research with the potential to advance the understanding and treatment of human disease.

Congratulations to Neeharika on this outstanding achievement.
