From Theory to Practice: IICD Workshop Series offers Columbia graduate students and postdoctoral scholars the opportunity to build research skills in a focused, hands-on setting. Each 3/4 hour in-person workshop covers a different topic and is led by IICD faculty, research scientists, or postdoctoral instructors. These interactive sessions combine concise lectures with practical exercises so participants can apply concepts immediately using current tools and methods.
Join us for our next session of the From Theory to Practice: IICD Workshop Series: a hands-on Parameter Inference Approaches for Data-Driven Mathematical Modeling workshop led by Dr. Khanh Dinh.
Audience and Requirements: PhD students/postdocs/ARS's with basic command of R and interest in developing mathematical models for biological data.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- Understanding of different approaches to modeling biological data
- Parameter inference tools for each approach
Workshop Agenda:
- Overview of biological modeling and parameter inference
- Parameter inference for deterministic models
- Likelihood-based inference for stochastic models
- Likelihood-free inference for stochastic models
