Sanja Vicković, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering (in the Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics), was awarded a two-year grant from Target ALS, a medical research foundation committed to the search for effective treatments for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), for her project titled "Creating a spatial genomics resource for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis-Frontotemporal Dementia (ALS-FTD) neuropathies."
To address the molecular mechanisms driving diverse ALS-FTD etiologies, the Vickovic's lab will apply spatially resolved genomics to deeply phenotyped, genetically stratified cortical and spinal tissue at an unprecedented scale, applying novel computational methods for data integration across experimental modalities.
