The IICD Joins Velocity: Columbia's Ride to End Cancer Once Again

In its third consecutive year, the IICD takes on the challenge of supporting Velocity: Columbia's Ride to End Cancer. So far, the team has raised over $2,100 to support life-saving research and comprehensive care for patients and their families at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Congratulations to Presha Rajbhandari (Stockwell lab) who received the newly-established Charles H. Turner Award for Postdoctoral Studies in Biological Sciences for her work on developing a multi-modal imaging pipeline to identify the cellular and metabolic composition of mouse and human livers, down to single cell resolution. Roy Ghosh is a PhD student in the department of Biomedical Engineering who recently joined Sanja Vicković’s lab. Roy is working on optimizing multi-omics technologies and leveraging such tools with the aim of identifying translatable therapeutic targets critical to disease networks. Read more.

Ruiyang He is a PhD student in the department of Biomedical Engineering who recently joined Sanja Vicković’s lab. Ruiyang is interested in developing novel computational methods integrated with advances in spatial transcriptomics technologies to dissect the importance of spatial organization in development and disease. 11th Integrated Mathematical Oncology (IMO) Workshop
|
|
The IMO workshop is designed to motivate and facilitate a hands-on modeling experience focused on Steering cancer evolution through therapeutic intervention. The workshop is comprised of both an educational event and competition and divides participants into multiple teams combining clinical, experimental, and theoretical members. The event will take place October 29th-November 3rd, 2023.
